THE POSITION


We are looking for an experienced (Senior) Software / Integration Architect to join our teamworking on the Smart Middleware Platform (SIMPL) for Cloud-to-Edge federations and Data Spaces project. This role will involve architecting, integrating, and ensuring interoperability across various public sector services, with a focus on security, compliance, and cutting-edgetechnologies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in integration architecture, microservices, container orchestration, and secure data exchange within a large-scale digital ecosystem. WHAT IS WAITING FOR YOU?


  • Technical Leadership: Design and lead the integration of SIMPL components,
including data catalogues, quality governance tools, application sharing frameworks,
and interoperability hubs, ensuring seamless functionality across diverse systems and
components.
  • Integration with Eclipse Dataspace Connector (EDC): Architect solutions that
incorporate with dataspace protocoll implementations like EDC and other to enable
secure and standardized data exchange between dataspace, aligned with European
public service standards.
  • Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI): Define and guide implementation of SSI mechanisms to
ensure user-centric identity management, privacy, and data sovereignty within the
SIMPL framework.
  • Security and Access Management: Design robust security architectures that
incorporate access control, data encryption, and identity management in compliance
with GDPR and SIMPL’s data governance policies.
  • Microservices Architecture: Leverage microservices principles to create scalable,
maintainable, and modular solutions, enabling flexible deployment and integration of
individual services.
  • Container Orchestration with Kubernetes and OVH Cloud: Utilize Kubernetes on
OVH Cloud for orchestrating microservices, automating deployment, scaling, and
management. Integrate Rancher for streamlined container management and resource
optimization.
  • Rancher Integration: Use Rancher to efficiently manage multi-cluster Kubernetes
environments, ensuring consistent deployment and monitoring of microservices.
  • Callback Services: Develop and maintain callback services to enable real-time
communication and data synchronization between different services and comonents
of the SIMPL ecosystem.
  • Requirements Translation: Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate
business requirements into detailed technical specifications for implementation
across the SIMPL ecosystem.

WHAT IS YOUR STACK?


  • Must Have: Integration Architecture, Microservices, Kubernetes, OVH Cloud, Rancher,
Docker, Eclipse Dataspace Connector, Java, Spring Boot, SSI, Security & Access
Management, NoSQL, CI/CD pipelines, RESTful APIs, and OAuth.
  • Nice to Have: Experience with Agile methodologies (SCRUM, DevOps), callback
services implementation, API Gateway design, and additional cloud platforms.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?


  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering,
or a related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in software and integration architecture, with
proven expertise in microservices, container orchestration, security, and integration
solutions.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Expertise with Kubernetes, OVH Cloud, and Rancher for container
orchestration and management.
  • Strong experience with microservices and API design, including RESTful
services and event-driven architecture.
  • Proficiency in security and access control mechanisms, particularly in GDPRcompliant
environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Eclipse Dataspace Connector or similar open-source
data exchange connectors.
  • Familiarity with Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) concepts and implementation.
  • Agile Proficiency: Experience in Agile team environments, including sprint planning,
iterative development, and continuous integration.

  • English mandatory & German nice to have
