Java Developer - Optical Field (REF4993T) - Budapest

The department is responsible for the core network (IP core, transport/WDM, and timing/synchronization) within the technology. From planning and development to the operation of the core network, we are responsible end-to-end, providing core network functions and capacities at the highest quality level, both nationally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Development of software solutions supporting optical core network related automation, managing the full software development life-cycle within assigned products and services 
• Collaborate to clarify technical requirements as needed and adapt software components to address specific product and service needs 
• Write clean and robust code for microservice workers according to best practices, deliver requested features, debug issues, write tests and conduct code reviews for the team members 
• Manage installation, configuration, and administration of software and hardware environments required for daily work, including workstations and virtual machines 
• Create and maintain clear, up-to-date software documentation within the scope of responsibility 
• Contribute proactively to software life-cycle management by proposing ideas for improvements and optimizations 
• Participation in the design of test automation and conducting tests 

Technical Skills 

Required: 

• Proven expertise in Java programming with Spring Framework 
• Experience with relational databases, particularly MariaDB 
• Skilled in Git version control and familiar with various branching strategies 
• Understanding of RESTful API design and API governance principles 
• Experience with automated testing across different levels (unit, integration, end-to-end) 
• Ability to take E2E responsibility and ownership of technical projects and show willingness to possess deep understanding on the technical subject matter 
• Experience working effectively within agile development methods and multinational and cross-cultural teams 

Preferred: 

• Experience with modern frontend JavaScript frameworks (preferably Vue.js) 
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes 
• Proficiency in containerization technologies using Docker 
• Kubernetes knowledge for container orchestration 
• Experience with DevOps practices 
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar concepts in LLM-based systems 
• Expertise in Python programming 
• Experience with Camunda workflow engine

Languages:

• English – Communicative with fluent technical vocabulary
