Tram Driver

Feladatok

Key Responsibilities

  1. Driving and Operating Trams:
    • Safely operate trams on scheduled routes, maintaining punctuality and ensuring smooth, safe journeys for passengers.
    • Monitor and control speed, direction, and stopping, ensuring compliance with traffic signals, signs, and right-of-way rules.
    • Maintain constant vigilance to avoid accidents and ensure passenger safety during the ride.
  2. Passenger Interaction:
    • Provide excellent customer service, assisting passengers with boarding, ticketing, and any inquiries.
    • Make clear announcements regarding upcoming stops, delays, or changes in service when necessary.
    • Assist passengers with special needs, including individuals with disabilities, seniors, and parents with children.
  3. Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols, operating standards, and transportation regulations.
    • Perform pre-operation safety checks on the tram to ensure it is in proper working condition (e.g., checking brakes, doors, and communication systems).
    • Respond appropriately to any emergencies, breakdowns, or incidents, including reporting to control centers and assisting passengers if necessary.
    • Ensure compliance with local traffic laws and tramway rules, including monitoring the tracks for potential hazards.
  4. Communication and Coordination:
    • Stay in constant communication with the central control room regarding route updates, incidents, or delays.
    • Follow instructions and procedures issued by dispatchers and supervisors.
    • Coordinate with maintenance teams to report any technical or operational issues that may affect the performance of the tram.
  5. Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain logs or records of routes, schedules, incidents, and any mechanical or technical issues.
    • Handle tickets, passes, and payments in accordance with the company’s fare collection procedures.
    • Follow up with periodic reporting and paperwork as required by the transport authority or company.

Elvárások

  • Driver’s License: Must hold a valid tram driver’s license or equivalent qualification as required by the local transport authority.
  • Experience: Prior experience in public transport or operating large vehicles is preferred but not always required.
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with passengers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to focus on driving safety, ensuring the wellbeing of passengers and pedestrians.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to respond quickly to traffic or mechanical issues and take appropriate action.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to sit for long periods and remain alert, with good reflexes and the capacity to handle stressful or fast-paced environments.
