Legal & Corporate Affairs Manager

Our client, a renowned FMCG manufacturer and distributor, is seeking an experienced Legal and Corporate Affairs Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing legal expertise while also engaging in corporate relations and communication strategies. You will work closely with HR, marketing, external agencies, and other departments to provide legal advice and support. A key part of this role is ensuring that business objectives are met within the legal framework, fostering a collaborative environment where legal and business teams work together to achieve results.

Feladatok

Corporate Affairs responsibilities:

  • Government Relations & CSR: Establish and maintain relationships with government authorities, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. Monitor and anticipate legislative changes and engage in discussions that impact the company’s business. Lead lobbying efforts to influence public opinion and policy in favor of the company’s interests.
  • Public Relations & Brand Communication: Assist the Legal & Corporate Affairs Director in developing and executing PR and brand communication strategies. Propose PR initiatives, monitor budgets, and evaluate the success of campaigns. You’ll also support crisis communication management and corporate reputation building.
  • Employment Relations: Lead internal communication initiatives focusing on employee engagement, change management, and employer branding. Design and implement communication plans to align with corporate culture and foster a positive work environment.

Legal responsibilities:

  • Compliance & Legal Counsel: Provide day-to-day legal advice on corporate, labor, and compliance issues. Ensure the company adheres to local regulations and EU laws, especially in marketing, trade, and product labeling.
  • Contracts & Agreements: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including commercial agreements and legal documents. Offer legal advice on all business operations, focusing on compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to provide legal guidance on innovative campaigns, ensuring they comply with relevant regulations. Help turn creative ideas into legally compliant solutions.
  • Regulatory & Self-Regulation: Participate in industry self-regulation efforts by attending weekly committee meetings. Oversee compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards to ensure alignment with the company's operations and legal requirements.
  • Corporate Projects & Documentation: Oversee internal corporate legal matters, such as drafting internal regulations, crisis management, and contract negotiations. Handle non-litigation cases, manage external advisors, and supervise ongoing legal projects.
  • Litigation & External Counsel: While litigation responsibilities are minimal, you will manage any litigation cases that arise, usually delegating them to external law firms. Oversee the work of external legal counsel in areas such as competition law and corporate litigation.

Elvárások

  • Senior lawyer with 3-5+ years of experience, ideally within the FMCG industry or similar corporate environments.
  • Expertise in labor law, commercial law, and compliance. Experience with government relations or corporate affairs is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, both in Hungarian and English (including legal terminology).
  • Ability to think creatively and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Active driver's license
